Facebook Groups have been acting weird lately, and the network’s bosses are aware of the problem. Some of the problems include receiving many random notifications and finding yourself now a member of groups you left.
Josh Wolford of WebProNews noticed that he was added to around 40 different Facebook Groups. Yikes. What do people do when they have problems with Facebook? They go to Twitter. Here are just a few complaints:

all the groups I joined on Facebook in year 8 are coming back to haunt me now — lauraa♥ (@laura_tibz) November 29, 2012
FB added me back 2 all the groups I was ever in. Now I have 2 manually leave them. Another reason why Facebook is just a photo site for me. — ottertown (@ottertown) November 29, 2012
Thank you Facebook for adding me to 1000 groups or so. I now have to individually remove myself from every single one #wasteoftime

Users are also taking to the site’s own discussion forums. Here’s what Mary Langley Pettit experienced when she was trying to get some shut eye:
“It’s 3 a.m. I was asleep and my phone suddenly tells me I have 50 notifications from groups I somehow joined while I was sleeping. Some of them were groups I used to belong to but left, some aren’t. ALL say I joined “24 minutes ago” while I was sleeping. What gives? No notifications saying I was added by anyone, just that I joined.”
The issue is currently being investigated. However, there’s no estimate on when the Facebook Groups glitch will be fixed. In other words, hang tight.
