Criminal Pepper Sprays Himself During Burglary

Pepper Spray Bandit

It was more like a comedy act than a crime.

A West Virginia man is behind bars after foiling his own robbery plot. Michael Kevin Meadows was arrested Wednesday after entering a pharmacy wearing full camouflage and a paintball mask. Once inside the store, he began spraying pepper spray to thwart employees from stopping him at an attempt to rob Bypass Pharmacy in Beaver, West Virginia. That’s where things took a turn for the worse for Meadows. The 43-year-old criminal proceeded to walk right into the cloud of pepper spray. Security cameras caught Meadows staggering in pain from the burning of the pepper spray. He eventually made it out of the pharmacy and somehow got away in a vehicle, completely empty-handed.

Fortunately, police were able to track the owner of the car down. The man admitted to being the driver of the vehicle and named Meadows as the would-be thief.

We’ve all heard the saying, “crime doesn’t pay.” For Mr. Meadows, it didn’t pay, but it definitely burned. He now faces a charge of attempted robbery. His bond is set at $10,000. Good news, no one else was harmed during Meadows idiotic attempt.

Let the puns begin. Crime doesn’t pay, even if you spray.
