The cast of Fast and Furious 7 has been very open about grieving their fellow cast mate, Paul Walker. In the latest interview, Vin Diesel got emotional about the loss of his friend, but before he did he sang a little tribute.
During the interview, Vin Diesel shares that he loves to sing, but he doesn’t like to do it front of people, because he doesn’t do it well at all. Talking to Italian media, he decided to give a sneak peek into his singing skills as he sang a short clip of the song, “See You Again”. Included in the film’s soundtrack, the song is dedicated to his costar, Paul Walker.
After the light-hearted singing, the interview then got emotional as Vin Diesel was asked about how he felt when he had to go back to shooting the movie without Walker.
“Oh my God, it was the hardest thing I had to do. I felt like it was almost unfair asking us to go back to work. When I act, I pull from the inside but when my inside is hurting or in pain – how do you do that?”
“I didn’t know a human could produce so many tears. I remember feeling self-conscious about it… If it wasn’t for the great team – that I call family – if it wasn’t for the obligation in honouring Paul… that is what drove us to the finish line.”
Despite the difficult of finishing the film, Fast and Furious 7 has been a huge box office hit, breaking opening weekend records. Even though the franchise has been such a success, the future of the series is unclear. There has been no writer or director assigned to the next installment and no casting has been made.
