Chris Pratt As Indiana Jones? Speculation Drives Twitter Crazy

Disney is reportedly eyeing Chris Pratt to take on the role of Indiana Jones.

While Deadline admitted that there is nothing official to report at the moment, Pratt seems to be a front runner to take on the role from Harrison Ford in an upcoming reboot.

Here’s one from the helluva good idea department. Marvel offerings are soaring, and Star Wars  is being reinvigorated by director JJ Abrams. Now,Disney has just started to turn its attention to reviving the Indiana Jones franchise after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013. I’m cautioned that while things are very early, I hear the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around, the role made famous by Harrison Ford in Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

If this really happens, Chris Pratt would solidify his status as one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors. Just a few years ago Pratt’s biggest role was on the NBC sitcom Parks And Recreations, but now he’s playing Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy and Owen in Jurassic World. Those are two huge franchises and now he’s reportedly in line to be the next Indiana Jones.

This is all speculation at the moment but Twitter is pretty worked up about the idea. It seems like there are two camps of thought: One, Chris Pratt has the perfect combination of wit, charisma, and bad-assery to play Indiana Jones, and two, Indiana Jones is sacred and the only person who should play him is Harrison Ford.

Today has been a big day for movie news. Netflix announced that the entire Wet Hot American Summer cast will be returning for the new series. We also learned which female stars will be suiting up for the new Ghostbusters.
