Pixar announced earlier this year that it would be making Finding Dory, a sequel to the hit movie Finding Nemo, and now we finally have some plot details.
Surprisingly, the new movie will not focus on a quest to find Dory (played by Ellen DeGeneres). Instead, the movie will follow Dory and Marlin (played by Albert Brooks) as they search for Dory’s family. According to Coming Soon, Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy will play Dory’s parents.
Another surprise is that Finding Dory will not take place in the ocean. Well, it will. But unlike Finding Nemo’s ocean traversing trek, the majority of Finding Dory will take place at the California Marine Biology Institute.
Pixar President Jim Morris said: “The movie will be mostly set at the California Marine Biology Institute, a huge complex of sea life rehabilitation and aquarium, where Dory was born and raised. We will get to meet new characters, like an octopus, sea lions, a beluga whale, among others.”
We know that Ty Burrell will be voicing a beluga whale in the new movie and that Idris Elba will also be joining the cast. Finding Dory will also see several characters, including the tank gang, return for the sequel.
