Psy Breaks The Internet With ‘Gangnam Style’ Video

Kim Kardashian tried to break the internet last night with a photo of her bare bum. It didn’t work. Psy, however, managed to break the internet with his hit video for “Gangnam Style.”

Psy’s video has racked up more than 2.15 billion views since it was first posted in 2012. Apparently that was too much for YouTube to handle. The video had so many views that YouTube’s counter stopped working.

YouTube writes: “We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY. “Gangnam Style” has been viewed so many times we had to upgrade to a 64-bit integer (9,223,372,036,854,775,808)!”

So how many times has Psy’s “Gangnam Style” been viewed? Well, it’s hard to tell. When you scroll over the video’s view counter (which currently sites at 2,155,246,273) you see this:

YouTube upgraded their counter to accommodate massive hit videos like “Gangnam Style.” So now the question is: Who is going to break YouTube again and surpass 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 views?
