Bill Cosby Meme Request Completely Backfires

Bill Cosby doesn’t want to be a meme anymore. The comedian posted a photo of himself on his Twitter account last night and asked his fans to make him a meme. Well, his fans obliged but not in the way that Cosby had hoped. Instead of using some of the comedian’s famous routines, the internet used #CosbyMeme to highlight Cosby’s past rape allegations.

Bill Cosby has never been convicted of rape but he has been accused of sexual assault by several different women. The accusations were brought back into the spotlight last month when a video of a Hannibal Buress routine went viral.

Now, a generation of kids don’t see Bill Cosby as a Jello spokesman or a trailblazing comedian. They see him as an old famous dude who raped a lot of women.

Regardless of your thoughts on Cosby, I think we can all agree that this was a terrible social media movie. Asking people to make you a meme is like asking people to give you a nickname. It’s never going to go well.
