Couch Gag From ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Futurama’ Crossover Hits The Internet [Video]

This Sunday, Fry, Bender and the rest of the Planet Express crew will be heading to Springfield. Fox just released a clip from “Simpsorama,” the crossover episode between Futurama and The Simpsons.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new episode, which will air on November 9, will follow Bender as he travels back in time to eliminate Bart.

Check out the couch gag from the episode below.

Al Jean, executive producer of The Simpsons, said that the idea to combine Futurama and The Simpsons came about after the network decided to take Futurama off the air.

Jean said: “They were going off the air, so I thought people would really love it if we had one more chance to see those characters,”We’re always looking for things that are compatible with us, and I thought, ‘Well, what’s more compatible?’ We do a joke, actually, about how similar Bender and Homer look. Like, they just erased Homer’s hair.”

Or, as they write in the opening, the crossover is simply a “show out of ideas teaming up with a show out of episodes.”

This is the second time The Simpsons have done a crossover this year. Last month, Peter Griffin and the rest of Family Guy had a little visit to Springfield. While the Family Guy crossover was great, we’re even more excited for Simpsorama. Both The Simpsons and Futurama were created by Matt Groening, so it will be really interesting to see these two sets of characters share the same screen.
