Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fans were devastated last month when they found that Mama June and Sugar Bear were going their separate ways. Well, there’s more bad news on the horizon. TLC could soon cancel the show because Mama June is reportedly dating a convicted child molester.
TMZ reports that Mama June recently started dating Mark McDaniel. The 53-year-old was convicted in 2004 of aggravated child molestation and spent nearly ten years in prison. He’s now a registered sex offender and is apparently dating a reality TV star.
The child, who is still a minor, has not been identified but Honey Boo Boo and her family reportedly know the victim.
TLC said in a statement: “TLC is not currently in production on HERE COMES HONEY BOO BOO. We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”
The gossip site says that Mama June and Mark McDaniel have been dating for several months. The reality show star has not commented on her relationship and TLC has not made any official decision to end the show.
Of course, TLC may not have to make that decision at all. If Mama June is really dating a child molester I doubt many fans will return for the new season.
Listen, Mama June. If it is true that you’re dating a convicted child molester, that’s unacceptable. Full stop.
