Woman Arrested After Getting Stuck In Chimney [Photos]

A woman was arrested for illegally entering a home this weekend shortly after firefighters rescued her from a chimney in Thousand Oaks, California.

According to KTLA 5, firefighters arrived on the scene at about 5:45 am on Sunday morning and found Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa stuck in the chimney. Police do not know Nunez-Figueroa’s exact intent but they believe that she was trying to get access to her former boyfriend’s home.

The home’s resident, who did not wish to be identified, said that he had met Genoveva online and that they had been on about six dates.

The man said: “Before you have somebody come in your house really check them out … really give it some time before you let somebody in, because they might want to stay.”

Police used dishsoap to lube the chimney and jackhammers to loosen the bricks before they were able to pull Genoveva to safety. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Captain Mike Lindbery posted a few photos of the rescue on Twitter.
