Johnny Cleveland? Johnny “Nickname” Manziel Files Another Trademark

OK, this is getting ridiculous. Johnny Manziel, also known as Johnny Football, now wants to be known as Johnny Cleveland. Seriously? Give it a break, man, before people start calling you Johnny Nickname.

According to ESPN, this is the 10th trademark that Manziel has filed for through his company JMan2 Enterprises.

Apparently Manziel wasn’t the only one who wanted the “Johnny Cleveland” name. Two people tried to file for the trademark but they were turned down because the courts felt that the name was tied to the former Heisman Trophy winner. That makes it sound like Manziel will have no problem securing another logo for his apparel company.

Manziel already owns trademarks on names like “JFF,” “ManzIIiel,” and “The House That Johnny Built.” He’s hoping to add Johnny Cleveland to that list soon.

Of course, fans aren’t exactly ready to call Manziel “Johnny Cleveland” just yet. The college star isn’t even the starting quarterback for the Browns at the moment so fans are a little reluctant to declare him the king of Cleveland.

The college star may have the league’s best selling jersey on NFLShop.com but he has yet to make a splash in the NFL. The Browns start their season on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers but Johnny Manziel Johnny Football Johnny Cleveland probably won’t see any playing time.

Do you think Johnny Manziel will live up to any of his nicknames? Or is he setting himself up for major failure?
