CeeLo Green Makes Gross Rape Comments On Twitter, Deletes Account

According to CeeLo Green, it’s only rape if the person is conscious.

Green, who was recently sentenced to three years of probation and 360 hours of community service for giving a woman ecstasy without her knowledge, made a few gross comments about rape last night on his Twitter account. CeeLo Green has deleted his remarks, as well as his entire account, but the singer’s words are still available on the internet.

In one Tweet, Green writes: “People who have really been raped REMEMBER.”

In another, he writes: “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent.”

The Guardian reports that no rape charges were filed against Green due to a lack of evidence. The woman said that she had no memory between the time she had dinner with Green at a sushi restaurant and when she woke up naked in Green’s bed. And since she can’t remember, well, according to CeeLo Green that means he didn’t do anything wrong.

Green must have realized that he was shoving his foot deeper and deeper into his mouth because he eventually apologized for his remarks. Kind of. Just like he blamed the women for being raped, he blamed his Twitter followers for taking his comments out of context.

Green wrote: “I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context … I’d never condone the harm of any women.”
