GoPro videos have become a regular YouTube thing, but when the videos are unexpected and a little less professional, it’s hard to be against any part of it. Especially when it involves a baby seal and a surfboard.
Matt Stanley was surfing with his buddy, Andrew Flounders, when a curious baby seal jumped onto Matt’s board out of nowhere off the Northumberland, U.K. Insolitevideo uploaded the footage to YouTube and spoke with the guys about their seal surfing afternoon.
“Me and my friend Andrew were out enjoying some summer waves when this little guy came along and scared the hell out of Andy because we didn’t know what it was! It nudged his foot from underneath.”
The YouTube description goes on to say how the seal didn’t want to leave the guys alone, he made two new friends:
“After an hour or so of playing around with the pup, the guys decided to head back to the shore, but the little guy hadn’t finished and tried to follow them up the beach. ‘When we got home Andy rang the local marine wildlife authority to make them aware of what occurred just in case the seal was unwell… He didn’t seem unwell when he was surfing in like a pro!'”
With just a few days online, this video has grossed over 2 million views. Check it out above.
