In spite of the hashtag #EndFathersDay going viral on Twitter, we believe that there is still a huge number of people celebrating this special day for/with their dads. Except, of course, those who have daddy issues. But that’s a whole different story.
Let’s take a cue from Jimmy Fallon instead, shall we?
This guy takes New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on stage, and together they break down the evolution of Dad Dancing for everyone to see. Not exactly sure what Dad Dancing is? Oxford defines it as:
Awkward or unfashionable dancing to pop music, as characteristically performed by middle-aged or older men:
for optimum embarrassment of offspring, dad dancing is best performed to REM’s Shiny Happy People
So just in case you need a refresher on Dad Dancing for Father’s Day, this is the video to watch; and even if you don’t, just watch for the fun of it.
And, yes, dads embarrass their kids in more ways than one, but I suppose it’s fair since kids give their dads their own share of unpleasant moments. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
