Google Helpouts, a service full of experts ready to help you learn something new through a video Hangout, has made its way to iOS.
Helpouts launched back in November on the web and Android, and feature topics ranging from electronics to fitness to music.
Costing anywhere from nada to over $100 per hour, iOS users can now browse the different categories, and search for what they need help with.
Setting up a Helpout is as easy as selecting “Schedule time,” and if someone is available then, you’ll see a green button that says “Start Helpout.”
Just like anything you would see on Amazon for example, every Helpout has a star rating system from one to five stars, and you can read what other people had to say.
Here are just a few of the highest-rated sessions currently available:
- Apple Mac and Mobile Devices Support
- LIVE Caribbean Cookbook – Learn to Cook a Series of Island Dishes
- Fashion advice from the ASOS personal stylists
- Math Tutoring and Homework Help – Alg 1 & 2, Geo, Precal, College Alg
It’s worth mentioning that some users charge a cancellation fee, so if you do schedule a session and end up bailing without 24 hours notice, it can cost you anywhere from 50 percent of the session rate or five times the per minute rate.
Google has been quiet about Helpouts, slowly opening up to more and more skilled helpers, but the platform shows promise with a 100 percent money back guarantee to boot.
