Washington Redskins quarterback RG3 announced via his Twitter account that he has joined Instagram and is planning to make his first post Sunday.
First of all, it’s surprising RG3 doesn’t already have an Instagram. At 24-years-old the social media application feels like a requirement.
Second of all, whatever RG3 is planning needs to be worth the hype. RG3 is a unique personality and anything normal won’t be satisfying.
Unfortunately, if you follow his Twitter it looks like normal might be just what we’re getting.
Joining Instagram @RobertGriffinIII. First pic dedicated to my family, friends & fans going up tomorrow

The post was then built up by RG3’s followers as something it’s probably not.

Exactly how RG3’s post about family morphed into something bigger is beyond me, but I guess that’s just the hype machine.
Or maybe someone knows something I don’t.
Either way the truth will be revealed tomorrow.
The last week has been a big one for RG3 as the Redskins signed super star wide receiver DeSean Jackson. He now has a fast and reliable target to throw to, a gift that should make him one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL next season.
Joining Instagram is a great move for RG3. The application gives him another way to interact directly with his fans, which is good for him and the Redskins.
