Because people get older, it was inevitable that subversive Generation X-ers would one day look down on the youth of America and shake their heads with the disapproval they felt from their own elders in the early 90s. That day is today.
From TheFineBros, the above video shows our current crop of teenagers reacting to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Heart Shaped Box.” Luckily, Nirvana’s legacy has stood the test of time, as many of the teenagers in the video recognize the band’s music, sing along, and declare their undying love for Kurt Cobain as every teenager should.
Others wax philosophical about the current state of the music industry, and again, we’re feeling like proud papas who’ve brought our kids up right when they confess their appreciation for videos without “everyone stripping” and music that was actually “good.”
Still, there are a few in the video who recognize Nirvana because of that Jay-Z song. Kids these days.
