Social analytics firm Simply Measured has raised $20 million from a group of investors. The $20 million Series C round of funding is led by Trinity Ventures with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Four Rivers Group, MHS Capital and other existing investors. Karan Mehandru, General Partner at Trinity Ventures, will join the Board of Directors at Simply Measured.
According to Simply Measured the money will “allow the company to continue their steep growth trajectory and enable ongoing product expansion.”
In a post on the company’s website CEO Adam Schoenfeld writes:
“I’m excited to share that we’ve raised $20M from an amazing group of investors. I’m even more excited about how this validates our vision and lets us build our platform for the future. It enables us to define the measurement category. We get to jump in front of a massive evolution in social marketing. We get to push the industry forward with our user-centric approach to measurement. We get to scale what we love – helping every marketer take control of social data.”
In speaking about the company’s big investment push, Adam claims that “Measurement will be King in 2014.” He goes on to share his thoughts on the “increasingly messy and complex” collection of social data for brands. Schoenfeld says data collection is “now cross-channel, globally coordinated, converged with content digital strategy, and having an impact on all of earned, owned and paid media.”
Schoenfeld breaks the evolution of social interaction down into 3 key phases:
The Simply Measured platform assists enterprise-level customers with insight into Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, Tumblr and Vine. The company’s data is compiled into visual dashboards that can be shared easily across an organization.
In a press release Simply Measured says it now features “over 40 unique customizable reports” which are used “by over 35 percent of the Interbrand 100. Among some of its clients are Kia Motors, Pepsi, American Express, Billboard, Samsung, Chipotle and the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks.
