Pope Asks Followers To Pray For Him On Twitter


Pope Francis Twitter Prayers

As Pope Francis completes his first year as the head of the Catholic Church, the pontif reached out to his 3.7 million followers on Twitter, asking them for religious support.

Francis on Thursday morning tweeted:

Pope Francis, seen as a radically different pope than his predecessors, was named at TIME’s Person of the Year. He has reached out to the LGBT community, and other groups that have been traditionally ostracized by the Catholic Church.

To celebrate his first year as Pope he will spend the day at a prayer retreat outside Rome, prayers meant to mark the start of Lent.
