Trulioo Raises $6 Series A To Verify Online Identities

Trulioo is a platform that enables website operators who support social login to detect spammers, trolls, fake users, validate social profile information, and authenticate users in real time.

The company recently announced that it has raised $6 million in a Series A round to expand their reach into international markets such as the UK. The new funds will also be used for hiring new executives and to further invest in enhancing product support for additional social networks such as VK, Renren, and Qzone.

In 2012 the company was analyzing profiles on Facebook and estimating how likely it were that they were managed by human beings instead of bots to help businesses focus their marketing efforts on accounts that belonged to human beings.

The round was led by Tenfore Holdings, other participators include previous investor Blumberg Capital, and BDC Venture Capital. To date, Trulioo has raised a total of $8.3 million.
