Have you heard about the #banbossy campaign, spearheaded by the Girl Scouts and Lean In guru Sheryl Sandberg?
Sadly unsurprisingly, like many initiatives to empower young girls, the #banbossy hashtag and celebrity shout-outs have roused a certain segment of the population — one that feels good ragging on Girl Scouts and other seats of female encouragement.
When #banbossy hit in a big way, many high-profile feminists threw their weight behind the cool initiative, which is meant to retire the word “bossy” as an epithet used to disempower girls for being leaders.
Support rang out from brands like GoldieBlox:
We’re taking the pledge to #banbossy with @LeanInOrg and @girlscouts to encourage leadership in girls. Join us! https://t.co/ZrnzI5xO9n

Other grown men gravely fear eight-year-olds in sashes feeling confident:
Just like in Orwell's 1984, feminist control freaks trying to limit vocabulary so nobody can think for themselves anymore. #banbossy
— Paul Joseph Watson (@PrisonPlanet) March 11, 2014
Control freak feminists trying to police language again by banning the word "bossy". Gonna use it every day. Bossy, bossy, bossy. #banbossy

And males told harrowing tales of bossy Girl Scouts threatening them:
#banbossy Ban Bossy? Why did Girl Scouts USA try to boss LifeNews after we showed their link to Planned Parenthood? https://t.co/rKI2M6Zdpc

In fact, brave men everywhere donned a cloak of victimhood to charge that #banbossy was a secret emasculation plan in disguise:
Let's just cut throught the bullsh*t. #BanBossy is not meant to help little girls. It's meant to harm little boys.
Period.

Because you know what the Girl Scouts need? Lovin’:
#banbossy is proof that that radical feminists have to much time on their hands. They should try dating.
— Bill Powers (@BillPowers9) March 11, 2014
Because irony!
Feminists prbly won't get the irony in a women being so offended at being called bossy that she's demanding to ban the word #banbossy
