Jim Carrey Lures Shia LeBeouf Out Of Hiding With Golden Globes Joke

Shia LeBeouf retirement from public life lasted about 48 hours. The actor, who has been ridiculed for repeatedly plagiarizing his peers, came out of hiding last night to fire a shot back at Jim Carrey.

Carrey started this little celebrity feud at the Golden Globes when he made fun of Shia LeBeouf’s wisdom. Carrey was presenting an award when he relayed a famous quote to the audience. “Dying is easy. Comedy is hard,” Carrey said, before adding a little jab at his favorite plagiarizing peer. “I believe it was Shia LaBeouf who said that. So young, so wise.”

How dare he!? Did Jim Carrey not get the memo that Shia LeBeouf is not famous anymore? Shia retired from public life this week and is no longer fair game for public jokes.

Shia has had a hard time understanding the rules of plagiarism so it isn’t too surprising that he doesn’t understand how fame works either. You can’t just turn it on and off like a switch. Look at Lindsay Lohan. She hasn’t been relevant in a decade but people still obsess over her. You can just stand up and scream that you’re not famous anymore and expect people to listen.

To make matters worse, Shia also took a few swipes at Jim Carrey on Twitter. The tweets have been deleted but E! Online managed to check them out

E! Online reports that Shia wrote on Twitter: “At least I don’t get arrested for indecency on major LA highways! Or abandon love child’s.”

The problem with that message, besides the fact that it was unnecessary, is that Jim Carrey actually has a pretty good relationship with his daughter Jane. When Shia realized his mistake he issued an apology: “Jim Carrey states that he is deeply involved in his daughter’s life – I accept that, regret tweet on the matter. Apologies to both parents.”

Shia LeBeouf said this week that he was taking a step back from public life. He should really stick to that promise.
