Facebook finally launched a long overdue “Donate Now” button, and the social network is currently partnered with 18 different nonprofits.
Here is a list of those who can now accept donations from their Facebook Page:
- Oxfam America
- Livestrong Foundation
- Leukemia Lymphoma Society
- The Nature Conservancy
- Malaria No More
- Girls Inc.
- World Wildlife Fund
- Boys Girls Clubs of America
- American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
- American Cancer Society
- Blue Star Families
- United Nations World Food Programme
A donate box appears directly below the page’s tabs, and Facebook users can donate in increments of $10, $25, $50, $100 and $250.
After clicking the green “Donate Now” button, a window will popup to enter your credit card details if you haven’t purchased anything before on Facebook.
The social network accepts all major credit/debit cards, including PayPal.
From Facebook’s announcement post:
The Donate feature will appear beside Posts in News Feed shared by participating nonprofits and at the top of their Facebook Pages. When people click “Donate Now” they can choose the amount, enter their payment information, and immediately donate to that cause. They also have the option to share the nonprofit’s post with their friends. We hope this will help increase donations as people encourage their friends to donate to the causes that are important to them.
For nonprofits interested in adding a donate button to their Facebook Page, you first have to fill out the Nonprofit Interest Form.
