Millions of Facebook fans have complained for months about the output of their Facebook Timeline and now the PinView App for Facebook may have them breathing a sigh of relief.
PinView is an application that allows users to display their news Feed, Timeline, friends list and multimedia pages in a set of small panels just like the Pinterest social network.
Launched on Thursday the app is free to use and opens the users News Feed in grid format, buttons on the top then allow them to view Timeline, friends’ profile photos, photos or videos.
While the app is still in its infancy its developers are already planning new features including the option to save favorite posts.
Co-developer Thomas Petersen tells Mashable:
“We are also planning to allow you to sort them based on popularity and other non-realtime properties.”
Petersen goes on to admit that Pinterest is the best use of the grid format he’s seen to date:
“It’s popular because it allow you to quickly scan lots of pictures; that is the strength of this format. It’s not something Pinterest invented, but they found the proper use for it.
Give PinView a try and let us know what you think.
