Justin Waldron helped create Zynga and now six and a half years later the company’s co-founder is exiting the social gaming firm.
On Wednesday night Waldron posted a message on his personal Facebook account. In his farewell post Waldron called his time at Zynga “magical” while praising the company’s employees.
Waldron didn’t take any time to announce new projects, but did highlight his investment strategy involving various startup companies.
Zynga has suffered through worsening performance reports over the last several years. The company’s financial situation has forced out several prominent players, including the company’s chief operating officer and chief marketing officer. Also forced out were Words With Friends creators Paul and David Bettner and OMGPOP founder Dan Porter.
Most recently co-founder Mark Pincus was replaced at the CEO position by former Xbox executive Don Mattrick.
