Young, 23, is the first Miss Philippines to win the Miss World contest. She was crowned by last year’s winner during the closing ceremony this morning in Bali, Indonesia.

Megan Young immediately started trending after she was crowned Miss World as people from the Philippines celebrated on Twitter.

Of course, Twitter wasn’t the only place they celebrated. A large Flipina crowd gathered in Bali, Indonesia today in anticipating of Megan Young becoming the first Miss Philippines to win the Miss World pageant.
When asked why should be Miss World, Young responded: “I treasure a core value of humanity and that guides people why they act the way they do.
