In celebration of Google+ and its two year anniversary today the social network has debuted a new Follow button, new Communities badge, and updated pages for Pages and Profiles.
The first option is the Google+ follow button, an option that allows users to +1 a website if they want to like the websites Google+ page.
Here’s a first look at the Google+ follow button:
As the image shows above the button changes upon use. The button to the left is shown when a click has not been implemented, the center button shows a click and the right side button turns blue if the user has already liked the Google+ page for the website.
Google will “update” the new follow button in the next coming weeks but it will only be small cosmetic changes.
Google+ also now offers a badge for communities. Here is a look at that badge:
There is a nice addition to the Google+ Communities badge, for example you can click the “Preview Community” button to open the community in a new browser tab.
While Google already offers Page and Profile badges those options have been upgraded and offer a new look. Here’s the new Profile badge:
And here’s a first look at the new Page Badge:
You don’t have to place the Profile Badge and Page Badge on your pages just yet, your old badges will still be available for the “next 90 days.”
So what do you think, has Google+ made some nice improvements with its new Follow button and various badges?
