‘Put A Cat On It’ Miscommunication Proves That Reddit Can Make Anything Trend Online

Put A Cat On It

Reddit has the power to help change the world — It also has the power to make the term “put a cat on it” trend for almost no reason whatsoever.

A mom in Indiana recently ordered a graduation cake for her daughter Laura and somewhere along the way her message was miscommunicated.

Laura’s mom asked the bakery to “put a little cap on it.” That message was suppose to mean put a graduation cap on her daughters head.

When she picked up the cake the bakery had “put a little cat on it.”

Laura quickly uploaded her graduate cake to Reddit where the sheer stupidity of the post gave users a reason to upvote the post.

In responded to her Reddit post Laura says:

“When my mom got to the store and started laughing they tried to wipe off the cat and put on a plastic cap, but she told them to keep it.”
