Why a major film studio wouldn’t be interested in making a Legend of Zelda live action summer blockbuster is beyond us. It’s a great, timeless story with a built-in fanbase and massive epic trilogy potential. Better still, it can be done. Just check out the fan-made “Link’s Shadow” film below and tell us it doesn’t make you want the real deal.
The days of decade-long Raiders of the Lost Ark remakes and passion projects is pretty much over. Fan films are increasing in quality and turnaround, and with crowd-funding platforms like Kickstarter and GoFundMe, it’s not impossible for a couple of kids with a dream to start a YouTube channel and produce their very own mini-blockbusters.
To wit, “Link’s Shadow” is the latest offering from the folks over at Corridor Digital (they’ve had viral hits including “Googly Eyes” and “Kittens on the Beat” before), and it features a fight between Link and his dark alter ego.
