How would you like to receive a free Pepsi from a vending machine? The new Pepsi Like Machine offers customers the option to “Like” the Pepsi fan page on Facebook for a free drink.

Pepsi partnered with TBWA Belgium to create the vending machine and it first showed up at a Beyoncé concerts in Antwerp.

The vending machine works by allowing users with smartphones to access and then connect with their Facebook account. After the user likes the Pepsi fan page on Facebook they receive a free cold beverage.

The Pepsi Like Machine also uses location based services to make sure the phone is within the vicinity of the Pepsi Like Machine.

Don’t have a smartphone? Fear not! There is also a 42″ built-in touchscreen that allows users to log into Facebook directly from the Facebook friendly vending machine. After logging into Facebook a timer is activated to ensure a user is logged out shortly after liking the Pepsi page.

Real-time user feedback for a product and a low cost of fan “Like” acquisition should make the Pepsi Like Machine a big hit if the program continues to expand.

  1. Oh my… Just what the world needs. A free way to add more junk drinks to our society…. While simultaneously gathering info about our social lives via Facebook. I can only imagine how the lines will be! Getting a drink for "free"… Not so much.
