If you want to become a Top 500 brand on YouTube you need to average 884,000 viewers per month.
A new report from the team at Outrigger Media with the help of its Open Slate analytics platform has discovered that top brands average 35,000 YouTube subscribers with an average of 200,000 Twitter followers.
Outrigger Media names the following company’s as YouTube’s top brands:
1. googlechrome 25,063,920
2. Pepsi 23,194,380
3. Google 21,186,750
4. redbull 16,312,320
5. KiaBUZZ 14,097,840
6. googleplay 9,161,970
7. Dior 8,982,450
8. googlechromeuk 8,616,870
9. GoProCamera 8,542,890
10. googlenexus 8,113,050
The study also found that the top 500 brands on YouTube account for 18.8 million subscribers. The Top 500 brands have also produced upwards of 315,000 videos with an average view count of 98,000 views.
While we often see repurposed TV commercials on YouTube only 7.4% of television commercials are repurposed.
Outrigger Media has also found that the tech category is very popular while travel is used less frequently. Here is the full list of YouTube subscribers by category:
