Stay Classy San Diego: Dodgers Take Jab At Padres On Twitter

dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres aren’t really getting along at the moment. There was a bench clearing brawl at the game on Thursday night that ended with Dodgers’ pitcher Zack Greinke breaking his collarbone. Well, the two teams are set to meet again next week and the Dodgers have already set the tone for the series.

That’s the type of taunt you might see from a rogue player or a die hard fan. But no, that comes from the Dodger’s official Twitter account.

The bench clearing brawl happened last night when Greinke hit Padres’ player Carlos Quentin. The Dodgers were leading 2-1 at the time and Quentin was facing a full count. That’s not really a situation where you’d peg the batter on purpose.

Greinke, who recently signed a six year, $147 million deal, is out indefinitely with a broken collarbone. Perhaps the Dodgers should have gone with something like this.

Of course, you can’t put all the blame on Quentin and the Dodgers. Greinke and Quentin have a bit of a history and maybe the Dodgers pitcher decided to forget about the game for a moment so that he could settle a personal score. That can be left up to baseball fans to debate.

But in regard to Twitter insults, the Dodgers are definitely up one heading into the series next week.
