Cory Monteith checked himself into rehab today for substance addiction.

The 30-year-old Glee star’s rep said: “Corey has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction … He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

After the announcement, several members from the Glee cast took to Twitter to voice their support for Monteith.

Dot-Marie Jones wrote that critics of Monteith should stay quiet for the moment. Jones, who plays Shannon Beiste on the hit Fox show, said that no one knows exactlywhat Cory is dealing with at the moment except for Cory.

Cory’s girlfriend and fellow co-star, Lea Michele, issued a statement to People Magazine.

Michele said: “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”
