Facebook Testing Update Feature, Reminds Users To Post New Messages

Facebook Status Updates

Facebook is testing a new feature that would remind users to post status updates.

The new feature was discovered by Bijan Sabet, a general partner at Spark Capital who tweeted a screenshot (shown above) of the new feature.

Facebook soon after confirmed that the new feature is in the works, although only with a small test group of users.

At this time its unclear when Facebook would remind users to initiate status updates.

On the one hand this type of feature could get annoying if overused. On the other hand Facebook could end up convincing users to more closely align their lives with the social network (as if they don’t already).

Do you think Facebook is going to far with status update reminders?
