There’s just not enough Sarah Silverman in this world. Thankfully, the comedienne, along with Michael Cera, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim and Reggie Watts, has launched a new YouTube comedy Network called JASH.
Silverman, who officially kicked off the new channel at SXSW today, said that the name JASH (which apparently means Just Attitude So Hey) was created to represent the unique individuality of all the comedians in the group. Or as Silverman put it: “We were at a restaurant and Tim said, ‘Just attitude!’ Which is so Tim … And then Michael Cera said, ‘So…hey?’ Which is so Michael Cera.”
The new channel will feature original videos as well as curated content from around the web. Silverman, Cera, Tim and Eric, and Watts will all have their own pages at JASH so you’ll be able to follow your favorite comedian’s videos or the entire site’s.
A message on JASH reads: “Founded and featuring original content by partners Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim and Eric, and Reggie Watts, JASH is the first fully realized network to offer all its comedic partners complete creative autonomy. At Jash we always strive to offer a variety of content with a unique voice: boundaries will be pushed, and disorientation is sure to ensue.”
JASH is purely an internet venture at the moment but it could see some sort of cross-over with Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kimmel’s current producer, Douglas De Luca, and his former producer, Daniel Kellison, will be behind the scenes at JASH.
