Facebook Music Dashboard [In The Works]

Facebook may soon add yet another new tab to user accounts, a music dashboard.

The company is reported to be creating relationships with several music services which will allow users to add a tab to their profiles which will show which songs friends have recently listened to and see what music services they are subscribed to such as Pandora and European streaming service Spotify (coming to the U.S. soon).

According to GigaOm Facebook is also expected to offer song and album recommendations from friends.

Facebook is also planning to show which songs friends are listening to in real-time, a feature Yahoo Messenger fans have enjoyed for use when that feature has been activated on accounts. It’s still unclear if Facebook will require users to activate the “now listening to” feature or make it opt-out which tends to create privacy outcries from users and privacy advocates.

The move won’t surprise anyone who has been following Facebook news, last month they were said to have signed an agreement with Spotify and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at that time that the company would being to focus on music as their next outlet for user satisfaction.
