A single Instagram account in the Swedish town of Gothenburg has caused protests to break out. The account posted pictures of young girls in the town along with the caption “slut.”

According to TheLocal.se protesters were “throwing bottles and stones at the police and attacking passers-by and people driving past.”

While the account is believed to have belonged to a high school girl in the area, police have not yet tracked down the user.

The girl who owned the Instagram until it was shut down had asked for pictures of local girls. The Instagram account owner then posted those pictures along with the alleged sexual acts the girls were engaged in. The account holder promised at the time not to expose anyone who sent her pics.

More than 200 pictures of girls in their early teens were uploaded and 7,000 followers took to the account before it was ultimately shut down.

After closing the door on the Instagram account users took to a related Facebook page to organize a protest. Here is the results of the protest:

Police didn’t seemed concerned with the protest, noting:

“A lot of people were there because big crowds are exciting. It would have been exciting for us when we were young, but social media makes it easier and quicker to assemble people.”
