Groupon Inc. is taking its Groupon Goods platform to the next level, offering free standard shipping and free returns for its discounted products offerings.

Orders of at least $15 before tax in the United States and Canada are eligible for the free shipping options. Expedited shipping will come with an additional fee.

Groupon Goods will also provide users with a 14 day return window.

The social shopping platform notes that oversized packages and items weighing more than 150 pound are excluded from the free shipping offer. Packages can also not be longer than 105 inches or have a girth of more than 165 inches.

Groupon Goods will not accept back beauty items, undergarments, worn items and perishable items.

The announcement was made just in time for the holiday shopping season, a time of the year when most major retailers in the United States get out of the red by allowing for massive sales that grab customers attention.

Through Groupon Goods customers can buy everything from electronics and jewelry to food and clothing.

Groupon is in desperate need for a huge sales push, last week the company announced its disappointing third-quarter sales level which pushed down shares by 2.5 percent to $2.69 at the end of Monday trading. The social shopping platform debuted with an IPO price of $20 per share.

Groupon recently announced a credit card swiper for merchant accounts, yet another attempt for the company to find profitability where it has so far eluded them.

The company also recently launched an ad campaign in an attempt to fix its tarnished image.
