Election day is getting closer and what better way to make fun of all the political ads than by creating one aimed directly at you! PBS Newshour has created a new tool called Ad Libs that uses your Facebook data to create a political attack ad.

The app looks pretty funny and making your own personalized attack ad is pretty simple. First, you’ll need to go to the Ad Libs website and once you’re there, click the big blue Facebook login button. Ad Libs will ask for basic permissions and select “Log In With Facebook” to get started.

You’ll then notice big red text that says, “Start Campaign, (your name).” That’s where the fun begins. Clicking that will allow you to choose which kind of ad you’d like to create, a bio or attack ad. For the sake of fun, click “Attack”.

After clicking “Attack”, you are asked if you want to attack your character or credentials. For this example, I chose character. Once you select character, a video will start up which asks you to choose a photo. Once you’ve picked a photo, click “Continue”, and then choose a status update.

You’ll then be asked to choose two more status updates. Once you’ve completed everything, your political attack ad is complete and you can watch or share it on Facebook.

The videos themselves are within the Facebook app so you can’t embed them anywhere, but give it a shot and see what you come up with.
